As the saying goes, “Simplicity is beauty”. The unit introduced this time is located in Choi Ha Estate, Kowloon Bay. It has a saleable area of 489 square feet and is divided into two bedrooms. It is suitable for a family of three and provides a quiet and comfortable living space for the owner. Therefore, the designer Joe Chan combines the elements of imperfection, nature and minimalism of Wabi-sabi and Nordic simplicity in the unit, using arcs and curves to create a comfortable and warm feeling.

The main colors of the living and dining room are simple beige and milk tea, and a large area of micro-cement platform is combined with natural materials such as wood grain, linen, and rattan to add a natural and simple atmosphere. The bulky furniture also blends naturally into the space.

Designer Joe replanned the space, changing the bedroom that originally faced the mountain view into a living room, and brought natural light into the living room through large windows.

The original dining room location was changed to the master bedroom and children’s room, separated by a large wooden wall, allowing the vision to naturally flow through to the living room. The entrances to both rooms are in the form of secret doors hidden in the enclosure to achieve integration. The master bedroom uses a storage platform design, the purpose of which is to meet the owner's large storage needs while also being close to the minimalist style.

The kitchen was also changed into an open kitchen connecting the dining room and entrance to increase the sense of space. The kitchen space is dominated by a large area of pure white, using solid wood countertops and metal handles to create a warm texture, and then matched with a bright-colored brick floor to highlight the space and increase the overall color and playfulness.

Microcement is used as the main material in the bathroom, giving the space an integrated, simple and clean feel, while microcement paint also creates a natural feel.

Construction cost: $670,000
